Noisia - Stigma (mau5trap)

Well it was definitely nice last christmas when we got Feed Me's Big Adventure released on beatport, but this year mau5trap are spoiling us again. A remix of Noisia's Stigma by Neosignal has been released on Beatport.

The genre says Dubstep, but you can replace that with "Awesome" or whatever adjective of your choice, I'm not sure dubstep defines it.

2011/2012 and the mau5

We apologize for the lack of updates. It is most surprising that this post comes on Christmas eve, but indeed a new post is in order (I hear you, shoutbox)...And what better time than the end of 2011 to both recap on 2011 and look forward to 2012.

As a recent blog post (which has been staring me in the face for too long, sorry!) showed, January will bring the Mau5's residence at the XS, Las Vegas. Expect an onslaught of unhooked shows around that time, and I envy any one of you who lives in Las Vegas.

March will bring the first time in quite a few years that the Mau5 will not be playing at UMF (Ultra Music Festival). He has been outspoken about the lack of progress with regards to the festival, and that the results are always the same.

In June, the Mau5 will be visiting Ireland for at least two shows, one in Dublin and the other Belfast. This christmas, wish upon a star for a full UK tour.

And we also await a new album...the long talked about "studio" album which features new content. Deadmau5 has recently had work done on his new house, and this will presumably allow him to produce music more easily.

If 2012 seems a little void, you wouldn't be wrong - but I predict to see a really polished tour or album out of the Mau5 at the very least this year.

Because 2011 didn't disappoint. The Meowingtons Hax tour didn't fail to impress, and it synergised a fantastic light show with great live music. We even saw live shows taken to quite literal new heights.

Professional Griefers, nee Deer Bus has exploded in popularity, and it is not even released. It appeared at Minecon and we had a sneak peak at some vocals, but it appears that the true face behind the final vocals has arrived - can you identify this man?

Personally, 2011 brought LED Festival, my first Deadmau5 concert. A great atmosphere and a great show.

The shows themselves would be lights without music - HR 8938 Cephei was a fantastic song that had strong overtones of the old progressive deadmau5 style while boasting new definition. Where (Are) My Keys was also a great showstarter that showed new style from the mau5.

In terms of Mau5trap, 2011 saw new releases from a horde of artists, new and old. DNB mainstays Noisia had 2 surprise releases with Tommy's Theme and Could This Be. Newcomers Raised By Wolves showed their talent in The Call. After gaining popularity with SOFI Needs a Ladder, SOFI has had her own releases, Locked and Loaded parts 1 and 2.

Locked and Loaded Part 2 is available on Beatport now and includes the song Bring Out the Devil, originally produced with Skrillex.

I'm just going to give my regular shoutout to Mike Duz, who I was pleased to hear got some recognition from mau5trap with his free release of his remix of Oxygen by Moguai. He's been working heartily on remixes recently, also creating a mockup remix of Professional Griefers. Props to him.

As for Mau5itup, we appreciate our readers, and promise moar updates this 2012. We also hope to improve the site and make it better. Please be sure to like us on Facebook (almost 1000 likes...) and follow us on Twitter.

Happy Holidays and a Happy new year,

Joel's Acting Career Meets New Heights In This Event Trailer

Joel seems to be expressing some talents not quite usually filmed in interviews, an acting talent. Here's Joel with a trailer for the upcoming Las Vegas residency at XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club unhooked gigs for the next year, starting January 2nd 2012. Pretty intense, never thought Joel would become a Vegas act. Check out the video bellow, and the Rollingstone article bellow for more details.

Could this be, 15 mintues of fame?

Aural Psynapse has an official video by the looks of it, uploaded onto the deadmau5 youtube channel, it's eerily beginning building up to the beat live at the recent Toronto show.

Mau5trap releases yet another Noisia single on Nov 21st. With this and Tommy's Theme, could this (be) mean an album?

Noisia - Could This Be | BBC Radio 1 w/ Zane Lowe by mau5trap records

Feed Me - 15 minutes of Fame on BBC Radio 1 by mau5trap records

And don't forget Feed Me. In this interview from BBC Radio 1, Jon Gooch aka 'Feed Me' discusses production amongst other things over the phone with Pete Tong.

In mau5 news, there is now a partership with the UK Nokia as they plan to bring "a spectacular show, nothing that's ever been done before in London."
For one night only you can see deadmau5 LIVE in London at Millbank courtesy of Nokia Lumia 800! Catch an amazing visual display and your favourite artist by visiting our Facebook page and entering the competition http://nokia.ly/uXNtnZ

NEW TRACK RELEASE - Aural Psynapse

And so outta nowhere, the modern remake of Aural Psynapse is finished, and has been released on iTunes this morning! Interesting enough, it seems to be an iTunes exclusive, so far. Follow the links for more info and the iTunes page.

iTunes | iTunes UK

So who wants to see more older stuff?! I know I do. Especially Creep. :)

Now that I have time, here's a more detailed and updated post.

Click the image above to reach the pre-ordering page for the NEW deadmau5 live dvd. It will feature footage filmed tomorrow at the toronto show in the Rogers Center itself. 30 minutes of footage will be stream on live.deadmau5.com. The catch is, you need to subscribe to the stream on the website, so enter your name and e-mail and you'll be able to watch it when it goes live.

Ever wanted a sneak peek into the way the visuals for the live shows work?

Last, but not least, there has a been a release of mau5 remixes floating around, put out by not Ultra, nor mau5trap, but by the London-based label 'Cubrik'. It releases on Nov 21st, and it's legitimacy still seems up in the air, so if you have any info, be sure to let us know. The full album boasts 21 remixes in total and is available to pre-order from HMV and eBay? Weird, right?

Moguai - Oxygen EP / Top 100 DJs

Just dropping by to confirm that the EP for Moguai's Oxygen will be coming out on the 7th November on Mau5trap. This includes the remix by Mike Duz, who I've blogged about at least twice, including on a remix of Maths he was thinking about.

Here's the remix of Oxygen for reference.

The EP will also include remixes by Moguai himself and Jacob Plant.

If you haven't looked already, the Mau5 took 4th in 2011's Top 100 DJ poll, remaining unmoved since last year. Ex Mau5trap artist Skrillex took 19th, a high spot for a new producer. Claiming his position as 4th, Deadmau5 lamented the definition the magazine gives to the term "DJ", complaining that he is by no means a disk jockey. We can agree with that. "Top 100 EDM Producers poll" doesn't quite have the same ring to it, though...

Lest I reiterate Saikotic's last post, just a reminder that part 1 of SOFI's new EP is up on Beatport, along with a slew of other releases such as Noisia's "Tommy's Theme".

Locked & Loaded Part 1; Trap Door & More

Sorry for the lack of recent news guys! Right now I'm gonna report on the recent release of SOFI's Part 1 of Locked & Loaded (yes you read that right, part 1!).

From the release description:
The multi-talented SOFI (Some Other Female Interest) is no newcomer. Having earned her stripes working with some of the biggest names in the music industry, she debuted on mau5trap as the voice behind deadmau5 singles Sofi Needs A Ladder and One Trick Pony from his globally acclaimed album 4X4=12. Now, SOFI returns to the label to deliver her explosive LOCKED & LOADED PART 1 EP, the first of a two-part series, consisting of dynamic collaborations with some of the most exciting electronic talent around. SOFIs LOCKED & LOADED PART 1 EP will be released digitally October 24 exclusively through iTunes and Beatport. The two tracks featured on it--Broken Souvenirs and Joyride featuring Vulgatron of Foreign Beggars are both collaborations with Brighton-based dubstep renegades Millions Like Us, who have remixed the likes of Hurts, Morning Parade and N-Dubz, and received support from Radio 1. Information on the LOCKED & LOADED PART 2 EP which will be released on December 5 will be made available soon. Broken Souvenirs delivers a powerhouse instrumental, building on a wave of delicate piano and swirling synths before dropping into a sonic onslaught of spiraling bass lines, pummeling drums and euphoric synths while SOFIs spine-tingling vocals soar through the mix. Its video, shot in London earlier this year and directed by The Moonrunners, made its debut this week on UKFDUBSTEP.COM and can be viewed at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLmUOOQauDI Meanwhile, fans can catch SOFI live this fall on the Meowingtons Hax tour supporting deadmau5 alongside Excision, Tommy Lee & Aero and other mau5trap artists.
Go to Beatport.comGet These TracksAdd This Player

Once I gather all the information released in the past few weeks (including that remix album), I'll edit this post to complete it. Until then, enjoy this killer new Feed Me track, supposedly being released on mau5trap.

Raized By Wolves - The Call

Hey there followers, just got some news of a couple of videos of Raized By Wolves! The boys that are signed to Mau5trap right now, have a couple of new videos to share the first we have their new video for "The Call", and the second link we have is for the Eyes Remix, which is also available as a free download! Raized By Wolves - The Call

New Deadmau5 South Africa tour ahead / New version of Raise Your Weapon

In the most cyclic redundant (see what I did there?) advertising feat ever, this site and video linked to by deadmau5 himself confirms that there will be a tour in South Africa soon. The site is rather nondescript and links to the video...and the video points to the site. Dates, locations, all presumably TBA. We'll have it here as soon as it's revealed.

UPDATE: Dates announced

Cape Town, 1st December, Ratanga Junction
Durban, 2nd December, Wavehouse
Johannesburg, 3rd December, H20 Wild Waters

Raise Your Weapon, WIP Album version

Out of the blue, Deadmau5 linked to this WIP album version of Raise Your Weapon. In this case, the song takes on a melancholy feel, with no hard hitting synths, just pure chill. Oh, and with some extra vocals, presumably still courtesy of Greta Svabo Bech. Now I can see where Madeon got the extra vocals from for his remix...

Presumably, This is a WIP version from before 4x4=12, not for the next album. Shows how much songs change over time!

Oh, and just as a final note, we're testing out a new mobile version of the blog. To get there, hit this link! (hopefully on your mobile device...)

[MAU5038] Noisia - Tommy's Theme

Well, well, well. Mau5trap's surprise was a new release from Noisia. Should have seen this coming, as Noisia have produced some absolute bangers of remixes for Raise Your Weapon and Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites previously.

The track is called Tommy's Theme. Buy it, and I'll leave it up to your imagination who "Tommy" is...

Preview the FULL track HERE.

Something mau5trap this way comes

...is coming our way Monday. Mau5trap is ever becoming more of an active label by each day, with great new releases recently from Excision and Raized by Wolves.

However Deadmau5 has also been talking about his track "Maths" which appeared yonks ago but was never released. 9 months later, possibly it will get a release? Maths has had a new mix on tour, and it sounds a bit different, being played with what sounds like live synths.

I quote from the mau5 "did i ever release "deadmau5 - maths" ? or am i losing my mind?"
No, you haven't released it mau5, and yes, you are losing your mind! This track has been around for 9 months!

I'll remind you Mike Duz worked on a great new remix of Maths recently, we're still awaiting a release of Moguai's Oxygen, and SOFI's new EP Locked and Loaded. And to think mau5trap started off with one guy and a track called Faxing Berlin...

Locked & Loaded

Set to be released on Oct 24th, on mau5trap is SOFI's new and first EP, Locked & Loaded. It will feature tracks produced by Noisia, Millions Like Us , Skrillex & Kill The Noise.

In other news, the mau5 tweeted on Wednesday that he was planning to collaborate with Excision, I know I'm pumped for this one.

Deadmau5 - Maths (Mike Duz Remix)

deadmau5 - Maths (Mike Duz Remix) SET RIP by Mike Duz

From the man himself, here's a Mike Duz remix of Maths! Ripped from a set by him.

If you remember Mike Duz, I previously blogged about him because he made a cool remix of Oxygen by Moguai that should be getting a release in October or November (not soon enough) on mau5trap.

If you don't remember him, check him out on his Soundcloud.

This remix itself might not be getting a release any time soon though due to Deadmau5' reluctance to release the track.

However, Pete Tong has recently revealed on Radio 1 that through chats with Deadmau5, Deadmau5 is looking to release a proper artist album in 2012, with more new content than previous compilations.

Lastly, just a reminder that Excision's new album X Rated is now out on Beatport through mau5trap now. (or click the image in the blog post below)

X-Rated On Mau5trap?

EDIT: Seems like X-Rated is only being released on mau5trap for the time being, which is pretty interesting since Excision and the like have been very loyal to the Rottun name (perhaps CD release?). But nonetheless, we have a new heavy-hitter on mau5trap!

Link
___________________________________________

Per the mau5trap Facebook postings, this is speculated to be Exicision's new album, X-Rated, which looks like it will be released on both Rottun Recordings and Mau5trap. We'll keep an eye out and let you know what happens there. Excision has been touring with the mau5, Tommy Lee, and DJ Aero the past few months, and we look forward to anything he releases on mau5trap.

And another little tidbit, the people who manage the mau5trap page also left us this, let the speculation begin!

The treat was a new The Call Remix!

Raized By Wolves - The Call (Eyes Remix) by mau5trap records

EDIT: More news, Pete Tong recently announced that he will have a "new deadmau5 / feed me & Skrillex on the show this week", per his Facebook status (social networking, where would we be without it?). We will also keep an eye out for this show tomorrow on bbc.
Unfortunately, the new tracks happened to be Cott's Face and Where Are My Keys, and the Skrillex being Ruffneck.

Mau5trap Releasepalooza! EDIT: Meowingtons Hax Tour Trax, Where Are My Keys RELEASED!

Where Are My Keys

Cott's Face - Feed Me

Static - Tommy Lee & DJ Aero

If you're interested about the rest of the compilation, you can find it on this youtube channel.

Tomorrow (or today, depending on what time-zone you're in), Feed Me's new original track "Cott's Face" will be released on mau5trap, exclusively on Beatport, and once I find an appropriate link, you can be sure you can find it on this blog post. :)

Also more rumoristic rumblings, courtesy of SJRimmington, who run's a neat blog over at Nothin's Gonna Change, a certain article from Kik Axe Music, states that today, mau5trap is also set to release a Meowingtons Hax compilation, which includes Tommy Lee and DJ Aero's new singles, Static and LFO Tool. Note that any word of this Meowingtons Hax comp is not confirmed at all and is simply rumor at this point, the only words to come from mau5trap which might be related came in the form of a recent tweet from earlier tonight. Click the picture for a link to the tweet itself. Should there be an actual release, I'll also post the beatport link for that.

TOMMY LEE and DJ AERO have partnered with DEADMAU5 and his MAU5TRAP label to release their new singles Static and LFO Tool tomorrow, August 25thvia the MEOWINGTONS HAX compilation
Embedded below is the video for Static. And yes, that is Skrillex's manager. Video is partly NSFW.

So, tell us what you guys think!

EDIT: What also might be interesting, is the audio in this video found on Adobe's Student site. Mau5 original or not? It remains to be seen. If you know what this track is, or any info, let us know!

EDIT: New updates! The big suprise mau5trap told us about is the Meowingtons Hax Tour Trax Bundle.

As Deadmau5 embarks upon the Meowingtons Hax North American tour alongside a host of the Mau5trap stable, the label head leads the charge with a brand new compilation. It features new and exclusive tracks from Deadmau5 himself and a host of the artists featuring on the tour, as well as a selection of tracks from new additions to the label that you can expect to hear a lot more from in the coming months. With contributions from Feed Me, Tommy Lee & Aero, Excision & Datsik, Zedd, Moguai, Al Bizzare and James Njie, this compilation is set to be the soundtrack to the tour carnage that will undoubtedly ensue. Opening with the insistent, driving powerhouse that is Where My Keys, an exclusive track from Deadmau5 himself, the compilation goes straight for the jugular. Moving through the jarring Cotts Face by Feed Me which fuses together glitchy drums and erratic synth lines and onto recent tour additions Tommy Lee & Aero the compilation doesnt hold up for a second as they deliver two fidgety electro house party starting tracks. Excision & Datsik turn up the heat with Deviance as grinding beats and growling basslines meet extra-terrestrial synth lines, proving once again why their star is most definitely in the ascendant. Zedds remix of Skrillex smash Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites channels the power of the original into a filthy 4x4 monster while Moguais Beat of The Drum surges forward on the elastic synths and rolling bass line with Sofi delivering her vocals with attitude.Upcoming Mau5trap artists Al Bizzare and James Njie also feature on the compilation. Al Bizzare brings Blast Wave to the table, a many-headed beast that switches up glistening synths and swelling bass and is in turns both euphoric and gritty. Rising talent James Njie rounds off the compilation in style, introducing himself with two futuristic progressive house tracks that are at once delicately nuanced and full of impact, speaking volumes of his talent. Mau5trap has grown exponentially since its inception in 2007 and become home to some of the most exciting electronic artists in the world. The new compilation features just some of the talent that the label champions and offers up a decisive musical statement whether you are going to the upcoming tour or not. To celebrate the release of the compilation, the Beatport version will come with selected track parts available for digital DJs giving them the chance to get creative. *The Meowingtons Hax tour runs from 11th August to 5th November, starting in Vancouver and ending in Toronto.

Professional Griefers + NEW ALBUM NEWS. [not confirmed]

UPDATE: EMI has taken down both the Professional Grifers and Don't Forget The Paperwork videos as of this morning. Hmm, what to make of this?

Well, seems like we have an actual name for Deerbus now.

You may remember that when the video for Don't Forget the Paperwork was released on the mau5trap recordings youtube channel, it's legitimacy was up for debate, but no where else could you find that good of a quality of the same track that had it's debut on the live Earl's DVD. Proof enough? I'd say so.(Leaving this striked out until we can get some real proof.) It's still a mysterious muddy gray area, but I think it's better that way. Leaves more to the imagination. (note that you also cannot find anywhere else, the intro to the track in this video. It doesn't start off from a recorded mix or anything else, it's from the intro of the track itself.)

And if you clicked the video, and looked at the description, you may have noticed this.

Is this some cryptic hinting we're looking at? Or simply a skillful trickster impersonating a mau5trap youtube channel? Let us know what you think. :)

New info on the new Deadmau5 stage / MAU5038 coming up / interviews

That's one of the longest post titles I've done in a while...

Alright, so we know Deadmau5 said about heavy motors for the new set. And at Lollapalooza, that was demonstrated with the mini cube group things (for lack of a better name).

And here, we find out what else Deadmau5 may have wanted to show off at Lolla, but couldn't due to rain.

And so the holodesk first seen at Earl's Court on the last UK tour is in action. The mau5cube twists round to reveal it, and the mau5 uses it with full effect, on the beautiful Jaded.
This video also shows the mini cubes moving up too.

If any more features get shown you'll see them here on mau5itup.

MAU5038 - Moguai feat. Fiora - Oxygen

I was wondering why we hadn't heard from Moguai for a while, after his cool compilation Lyve at Beta a while ago. That same compilation actually featured a song called Oxygen with a singer called Fiora. This song will soon have a release on Mau5trap, courtesy of some info from remixer of the song Mike Duz.

Apparently this guy Mike Duz is just 14. Madeon, move out of the way, you have a contender.

Check back here for details on when the EP will be released.

Interviews

After being at lolla, deadmau5 was bombarded with interviews. I was astounded at the lack of questions surrounding where he got the name deadmau5 from.

In said interviews with billboard.com and the rolling stone, he discussed perhaps making a new film score in the future, his hatred for compilation soundtracks, foo fighters, his next album, his mobile studio, and alot more.

You can find these interviews here and here.

I think we're done here,

Lollapalooza 2011 / Raized by Wolves

Lollapalooza

Oh how we mau5fans have waited. and pleaded. Yesterday marked the day Deadmau5 moved from the old mau5cube set to...umm...another mau5cube set?

Do not fear, because this show came with an extra helping of awesome, due to the fact that this show was so much more live. This is due to the fact he took live synths on stage, and there was no more "cuing tracks". God knows how they synced lighting and audio up in this case.

The only problem with last night's set was that the mau5 became a drowned rat, or rather, some stuff got wet. Therefore it was not the full show and only "half" of what he will eventually have to offer. However the meowingtons hax tour is only starting off. We'll have a full rundown of the new stage as soon as the first proper tour date swings into action.

What you need to know:
  1. This isn't the full set, in terms of lighting, and possibly in time - being a festival, there were time constraints.
  2. Motors were used - groups of cubes to the sides of the stage were lifted when SOFI came on stage, then set back down when she went. However this might not be the only application for them.
  3. 4 Lighting bars set in an X formation around the mau5 were set up, which was pretty interesting.
As they say, a picture tells a thousand words:
1. Showing the cubes (from deadmau5' facebook)

2. The lighting bars
The bars also had LED strips on so could light up independently.
(also the groups of cubes were raised up at this point)

If a picture tells a thousand words, then a video tells 10 x 10^60 words. Finally, my favorite, best quality compilation of the set:

EDIT: One of the bestest quality but most limited video of deadmau5 playing Expert Griefers on his new stage here.

Ibiza

Anyway, before that, Deadmau5 visited Ibiza, and did a pretty awesome set which was also broadcast on Radio 1. You can listen here (UK only) from about 2 hours onwards for his full set.

Some cool mixes from the set; Where Are My Keys vs. Slip, October vs. Raise Your Weapon, HR 8938 Cephei vs. Raise Your Weapon. Expert Griefers was also in the set.

You can find most of the set uploaded, in parts or in full on YouTube; search for deadmau5 ibiza space 5/07.

New Mau5trap release: Raized by Wolves - The Call

These guys, Raized by Wolves (not by weapons) have just been signed to mau5trap, it seems. This song has vocals by Tom Smith from The Editors. Go give it a listen - click on the image below to listen to it courtesy of my friend Stephen over at Nothin' Gonna Change, or click this link to buy it on beatport.

As announced by TalentHouse, the new mau5head design is this cheese head design. If you want a higher resolution view, simply click the picture above!

The selected design will be produced into the next deadmau5 head for promotional events and deadmau5's signature 'Unhooked' shows. Photographs of the winning mau5head will be featured on deadmau5's official website along with details about the winner. The winner will receive 2 VIP passes to a deadmau5 performance in Los Angeles and will meet deadmau5 at an in-store event in Los Angeles in August 2011. From the creator, Lance:
Hey everyone. I've always been a fan of his classic heads without all the bells and whistles, so I'm taking it back to lightweight basics. I've had the idea for cheese ears for a while now, kinda surprised it hasn't made an appearance yet in some form or another.

Anyways, your vote would be much appreciated if you think it deserves one. For those interested, it was made with Photoshop.

P.S. Thought I'd throw in a cheeky photo manip of him wearing it :P

Peace, Lance
Here are the rest of the finalist mau5heads. Sound off in the comments or shoutbox and tell us which one(s) you think should've won! Personally, my choices would've been the Dia de los mau5 or evil mau5 2.0. Let us know what you think! :)

Voting open for Deadmau5' new mau5head / Deer Bus will get a singer, and a name

Deadmau5' new mau5head voting now open

I think we forgot to blog about it while it was in the creative stage, however voting for Deadmau5' new mau5head over at talenthouse is now open.

Many creative minds have made a nice collection of wacky and pretty damn awesome mau5heads. It definitely surprised me how much you can do from a very simple model (the original mau5head.) Deadmau5 will be sent the top 50 mau5heads and will pick one to make. Voting ends 19th July so hurry on over to vote for your favorite mau5heads using your Facebook or Twitter accounts (or both to get 2 votes!)

Click on the image to the left to vote

Deer Bus n stuff

First of all, Deer Bus and Where are My Keys have both been ripped from recorded live sets at Ibiza and put on YouTube, in mildly high quality, thanks to Nick122020.

After deadmau5 got home to Toronto, presumably to rest and work on new music, a new set, and overall just about everything, instead he went on ustream and answered loads of questions.
This session was extremely long - the highlights being that he revealed that:
  1. The new live set will involve "heavy motors" - Possibly lots of moving parts for the set?
  2. He doesn't like projectors in lighting, for good reason
  3. Deer Bus isn't called Deer Bus. Infact he doesn't even know where this name came from. However, it does have a name
  4. ...And will also have a singer (most likely female). In this way, Deer Bus will become "the new Ghosts n Stuff"
  5. Meanwhile he played the song he was working on before he went on tour, called Obsidian. You can hear it in the beginning of this video. Very acid style
  6. He described his intentions for the next tour to be very much more live than the cube set - which will make him do lots more on stage. He will be bringing lots more equipment including lots of seperate synths
  7. He also wants to create a "tour studio" which will be a trailer type thing which will contain equipment with which he can continue to work on his tracks with, as opposed to just his macbook
  8. He expressed how if he were to make a new music video, it would have to be very well done.
I still can't wait for new music, and to see his new tour. The first show where this will all be tested will be at Lollapalooza festival in Chicago on the 7th August.

In mau5itup news, I personally am trying to cut down on the amount of flash objects on the site in posts. Alot of content with deadmau5 obviously relies on YouTube, but it is more visually pleasing to have links sometimes, and cuts down on memory usage.

Stay tuned, Psylark

Deadmau5 - Where Are My Keys / Don't Forget the Paperwork

Been a while since the last update, right? Well, let's get 2 tracks down in one go.

First one I can't believe I didn't blog it as soon as it came through, it was played at the Ministry of Sound afterparty after LED Festival on the 11th of June. I wasn't there, but for this I wish I was.

Where Are My Keys. This new unreleased track was played at the party, and was posted on YouTube by a kind person, and deadmau5 commented on the video himself, confirming the name. The original video has since been taken down however another one still exists.

It definitely shows Deadmau5 slowly progressing into different directions, but manages to keep that Deadmau5 feel to it which is always recognisable.

Next up isn't really new - it's the song that many of you may know as Industrial Strength Sleeping Pills.

On the new Earl's Court DVD (that I in the UK won't be getting) this track is listed as "Don't Forget the Paperwork.". Meanwhile a high quality version of this track sharing this name popped up on a channel which is supposed to be mau5trap records (with some debate surrounding that). The track itself on this channel is a bit of a mashup of the various versions of Sleeping Pills that appeared on soundcloud. It also states that this track is "Coming 2011". Yes please.

I can say I have definitely missed this track, it got dropped out of Deadmau5' live sets and that's a shame.

Meanwhile, Deadmau5 is coming to the end of his European tour, with Exit Festival still to come with a few other shows. Then it looks like he's going to have a fortnight break...Then back to his American Meowingtons Hax tour...with a new production.

Meanwhile for mau5trap, it looks like SOFI and Skrillex's "Bring out the Devil" will be released soon - as on SOFI's facebook "shootin a vid for it tomorrow:) this summer. promise."
So I guess this will be released soon, probably with a music video.

Deadmau5 Live at Earl's Court DVD

News of this has been poking around for a while. Ultra records are set to release a DVD of video from Deadmau5' acclaimed performance at Earl's Court, London, in the UK, from 18th December 2010.

This was one of his biggest shows with 18,000 attendees, and a slightly bigger production with his cube. He also used a new "holodesk" control panel for some mixing.

Currently, I can only find it on US sites, and as it is from Ultra records one could assume it will only be released in the USA.

Click on the image up top to see the trailer.

As for the mau5 at this moment in time, he is on vacation in Ibiza, however he is set to produce a brand new live show, presumably for his Meowingtons Hax tour in America from July onwards.

From Deadmau5' Facebook:
"also in the news, i've thought out / sketched up the design and concepts for the new stage for the new live show / tours, which is defo going to one up the cube thing. problem is, we only have 4 weeks to actually make it and produce the content for it. Gotta love doing things at the last possible minute. ARGH!"

Assuming Mr. Zimmerman finishes this on time...I look forward to seeing videos of the new setup in America...and more importantly, seeing him live in the UK again. ASAP.

Victoria Park, LED Festival - I was there!

Well well, LED Festival. Quite a spectacle. I can say the mau5 was the highlight of my trip. Just a few quick impressions, the show goes MUCH too quickly. The lighting all seems much more vivid than you see in videos, and it really is IMPRESSIVE. And just in case you had any shred of doubt, yes it was a great musical experience.

Anyway, what do I have to share? The only picture I took which is mau5 related, well what is a mau5 without his cube?

Videos! Just call me Mr. Shakycam.

He played some newish stuff. He played Deer Bus. Or, that's the WIP name people are likely to remember.

Aural Psynapse, another relatively new...well...rework.

Any more videos and this post will get too long so if you want to watch the few other videos I took which are of any decency go to my channel at :

The versions of Ruffneck Bass aren't the original Ruffneck Bass...which is disappointing, but Skrillex has confirmed we might see it at a later date..

Ironically, this release isn't on mau5trap. It's on Big Beat / Atlantic. So I can't support it by giving you a link, can I?

Oh well.

Check back soon for links to where to buy the new Feed Me EP!

Releases, releases...

First of all, Feed Me has confirmed that his "To the Stars" EP will be released in the first week of June.

But before that...the Raise Your Weapon EP! And just as I expected, the Noisia and Stimming remix will be included...and also a remix by producer Madeon!

Hope Madeon doesn't mind me using this here, but this is a GREAT remix, a little bit of french touch in there, just when I thought french touch was dying out. The remix includes lots of nice twists that make it really stand out. And from his soundcloud bio, this guy's only 16. Amazing!

EDIT: Also, a video for your viewing delight, and some nice album artwork too.

The Raise Your Weapon is reportedly scheduled to come out around the 23rd of May. We'll have details of where you can buy it all in high quality on beatport, etc. right here.

And the same for the Feed Me EP. Highly anticipated releases on Mau5trap.

Deadmau5 has just reached the end of his Asian tour, see here for details on his North American "Meowingtons hax" tour.

And just a note, I'm gonna try and get as much footage from deadmau5 at LED festival in June as I can. I'm definitely looking forward to it...

October news plus more touring! EDIT: More tour news.

First up, there is news on the unreleased track known as October.

If you're an active member of Random Forum Title (click here for the thread), you might have already noticed that there is an unreleased sub-forum for all unreleased tracks, and deadmau5 does indeed browse these forums himself, answering questions from time to time. In his latest post, he outlines what he plans to do with the track known as October.

And there you have it. There is hope! Haha.

And secondly, if you subscribe to the deadmau5 newsletter, you've probably already seen this in your email.

Brand new production...hmm. If you have any ideas what this might be, be sure to throw 'em in the shoutbox to the right! Click Here for a link to the ticket sales from livenation. Here are some tour dates that are on the deadmau5 website.

EDIT: There are more unannounced tour dates that have yet to be released. As to when we'll know is still uncertain.

And finally, a video that's been out for awhile, but some of you may have not seen yet.

(p.s, be sure to check out Random Forum Title. It's the unofficial deadmau5 forum of the internet. for realz. There's lots of cool stuff on there.)
