Deadmau5 UK Winter Tour 2010 / New song previewed live - RAISE YOUR WEAPON?

On the Radio 1 show recently, it was mentioned that Radio 1 would "team up" with Deadmau5 for a show in Glasgow.

Now, Deadmau5 has revealed a full tour for the UK this December.

The venues covered -

8th / Bournemouth - O2 Academy
9th / Leeds - O2 Academy
10th / Manchester - Manchester Central (with Zane Lowe and Magnetic Man)
12th / Coventry - Ricoh Arena (with Zane Lowe and Magnetic Man)
17th / Glasgow - Braehead Arena (with Zane Lowe, Magnetic Man, and Calvin Harris (DJ Set)) (Highlights broadcast Live on Radio 1)
18th / London - Earl's Court (with Zane Lowe, Magnetic Man and Stanton Warriors)

Notice that if you buy your ticket for one of these shows online before the 16th September, you will receive a free unreleased track "A City in Florida"...It will be interesting to see what this track is.

It could be one nobody has heard before, or one of the instrumentals such as "Moonlight Sonata Esque".

Speaking of unreleased tracks, this leads me onto my next part of the post...

Recently Deadmau5' linked on his Facebook to this video from the Rock en Seine Festival...

Notable points in the video:
00:00 - Strobe
01:25 - First part of new song
06:24 - Dubstep drop of the new song

We can guess from the lyrics that this song will be called Raise Your Weapon, however this is unconfirmed. It appears to incorporate progressive house and dubstep elements into the song, with vocals from a yet unnamed vocalist. The drums appear to be taken from dub5tepthingie4.

Also, as some new but unconfirmed news, many have said there will be a 4th Mix album before the artist album. The 4th mix album may be in November, while the artist album is in January.

New collaboration with Wolfgang Gartner previewed - ANIMAL RIGHTS / Radio 1 Show

So, the big news has come out on Radio 1. Vernon Kay shortly interviewed him and revealed that he has a cold. That isn't the big news.

What was revealed to be the big news was that Deadmau5 will be linking up with Radio 1 in Glasgow on December 17th.

Also talked about in the interview with Deadmau5 - "I used to work for stock music companies that made stock music for commercials and stuff...I was composer for hire."

Here is the full show for Creamfields 2010. The part with Deadmau5 is from 0:38:30.

The new single from Deadmau5 was the collaboration with Wolfgang Gartner, the name of the song is Animal Rights.

(A song name decided by Wolfgang)

Deadmau5 & Wolfgang Gartner - Animal Rights

RELEASED 6TH SEPTEMBER 2010

You will also see the link for the full show on the BBC website and when to listen.

It sounded like the perfect combination of the two artists. Made me think of Fire Power from Wolfgang and Ghosts n Stuff from Deadmau5.

Any way it is likely you will see this song shoot up the electronic charts soon :)

Upcoming collaboration with Wolfgang Gartner / MTV VMAs / Dynamik

Alot of this post's news comes from MTV...

Deadmau5 as House artist for MTV VMAs

First of all, MTV have confirmed deadmau5 as the house artist for this year (2010)'s Video Music Awards.

A quote from the article from deadmau5 himself -

"Dance wasn't always considered pop, and people like Lady Gaga and [David] Guetta and those guys really brought it out to the commercial market," he said about bringing his sound to the masses. "I'm just getting a lot more fans and God bless it, and that's the goal of being an artist is to get yourself heard by any means possible."

Wolfgang Gartner

The next article revealing mau5 news from MTV...

In about a couple of months, we should see a collaboration from Wolfgang Gartner and Deadmau5. These 2 artists have often been compared, so it is fitting that we should see a collaboration from both.

As some landmark songs from Wolfgang Gartner, try Conscindo, or Wolfgang's 5th Symphony.

I don't think we need to discuss landmark Deadmau5 songs. :)

Quote from article:

"His newest release, "Undertaker," is a dark and sinister house anthem that sounds like an homage to Deamau5's hit "Ghosts n' Stuff," so it's only fitting that Gartner had some exciting news to share with us: "I just did a track with Deadmau5 that should be out in the next couple of months, which I'm really happy with. It was a really fun one. And there are a couple other collaborations that aren't done yet, so I shouldn't mention them just in case, ya know, they never get finished!""

Dynamik

As you can never do too much advertising for deadmau5 and his label...Here is a track from Michael Woods (remixer of Strobe and I Said) on mau5trap, which came out today (16th August). Also comes with a remix from label mate Moguai.
