Deadmau5 & Beatport Music Awards

http://www.beatportal.com/awards/beatport-music-awards-2010/

Deadmau5 not only won best progressive artist and best electro artist, but also got most influential artist of the last 12 months.

In the best tracks of 2010, Sub Focus' remix of Ghosts n Stuff won the best Drum n Bass track, and Deadmau5' remix of Calvin Harris' "I'm not Alone" got best progressive house track.

Yet again, major success for Deadmau5 with awards.

Sleeping Beauty Pills

deadmau5 never ceases to entertain (at least in my books), and his latest work is no exception. It is definitely a different direction (think very Trent Reznor like, somewhat reminiscent of some of his old Get Scraped tracks), though it is by no means bad at all (or new, according to the mau5 himself, haha).

EDIT: Two new versions of the track were posted! Take a listen. I'll eventually get around to upping these on youtube.

So, thoughts, comments? I certainly love it, being a big fan of NIN as well as the mau5. Leave your opinion in the side-bar/comments! I'm interested in what you guys think. :)

Also, more RUKES! :D

Next compilation album "Deadmau5 At Play vol. 3" due June 14th

Last october I informed you of At Play 2.

Now it looks like Play records are going to release another compilation of classic mau5 goodness with At Play vol. 3...
Tracklist:

1. Cyclic Redundancy

2. Apply Overnight

3. Plus

4. Lai

5. TL7

6. Bounce

7. Full Bloom

8. Templar

9. Stereo Fidelity

10. Whispers feat Melleefresh (Remix)

This is incredibly lucky for me, as I was about to buy all these off beatport individually before this.

These songs have all been released before, and they are all quite old, but they're all golden.

"Unhooked"

Man, Rukes photos are absolutely amazing. Since the last post there have been several new live shows deadmau5 has done, thus, more photos from Rukes. Be sure to check them out, each of the show's photos usually have some pretty neat behind-the-scenes stuff.

Also, as a sidenote, if there is a deadmau5 show coming to you soon (as there seems to be a small NA tour coming up), if the poster and/or event says "Unhooked", it simply means that it will be a show without the mau5cub3 or the LED head, just a normal show. :)

Deadmau5 @ Paradiso (Amsterdam, NL) - May 15, 2010

Deadmau5 @ Rockhal (Esch-sur-Alzet, LU) - May 16, 2010

Deadmau5 "Unhooked" @ Bootshaus (Cologne, DE) - May 18, 2010

I need something to bang my head on!

Tiny update, thought I'd post the Paco rip I uploaded to Youtube, this is the highest quality you're gonna find other then what the mau5 himself has. :D (except that Youtube's max audio quality is 128, so when I said that, I meant my lossless version I have, :D) (EDIT: Apparently you can find a 256 version on BitBeats) Enjoy. :P

Also, Rukes has posted a new album from the Hamburg, DE show, be sure to check them out here!

Reeeemixxx

Yo, peeps. My name is Saikotic (or Josh if you prefer actual names) and while Mau5 It Up is a blog for new mau5y stuff, I intend to bring you both old and new mau5y stuff. :) When mau5 news pops up anywhere on his official pages, I'm going to try my best to post it here as quick as possible for you guys. :D
So, with that, my first article here is going to be an article on my personal favorite (and some of the most popular) deadmau5 remixes (up to this point).

Before we get started though, I'd like to post something quite new. This has been spotted on the official deadmau5 Facebook page and his twitter page as well.
http://wooshii.com/projects/113/create-the-official-some-chords-video/

Deadmau5 released 'Some Chords' on Beatport on the 3rd of May and we would like you to create an associated piece of video content. This brief is wide open so ideas can be as varied as you like.

It can be an animation or a filmed video.

Basically, entering this contest means you're creating your own Some Chords music video and if you're lucky...it could get picked (by Joel) to be the official Some Chords video featured on his website...and probably his myspace or wherever else it's gonna get embedded. :D

First up, remixes that the mau5 has done! Some absolutely great stuff here. :D
They're in no particular order and will have a youtube video with a little bit of history to go along with it.

Watercolor (deadmau5 Remix) - Pendulum

This is the newest remix out there (afaik anyways) and was first heard on Pete Tong's Radio 1 (as we know other mau5 tracks debut on there).

I Want You (deadmau5 Remix) - Carl Cox

This remix is much older, being at least a year old. Very very techy and bassy. Starts quiet and slowly builds its way up into itself.

I'm Not Alone (deadmau5 Remix) - Calvin Harris

This tracks chill vocals combined with the mau5 beat we all know makes for one helluva an awesome track, and if you're a DJ, it's a good drop to chill out the crowd.

Merrymaking At My Place (deadmau5 Remix) - Calvin Harris

The original track created by Calvin Harris has been remixed by a number of different artists (Oizo ring a bell?), but it's once again the deadmau5 Remix that triumphs.

Paco Di Bango's World (deadmau5 Remix) - Orlando Voorn

Possibly his best and rarest remix, this was never officially released and was only pressed on vinyl, the reason being is because it was never approved by Orlando Voorn himself. Good luck finding a good quality version of this track (luckily for me, I recently bought one of these over eBay and I am awaiting it's arrival, it should actually be here today. :D)

For now, mau5tards, I bid you adieu, and until next time. :D

Deadmau5 - Behind the Mask videos

A mini documentary about deadmau5' new live shows, with Zane Lowe. Covers the helmet, the stage, n stuff..

PART 1

Confirms that he doesn't have 2 of the same LED head on stage; instead one is a copy that looks the same although there are no LEDs on the front and therefore he can see through it, but it still has the blue outline around it

PART 2

Cthulhu Sleeps in about a month?

PART 3

Wonder whatever happened to The Public Record. I guess we haven't heard it yet.
5 new tracks that haven't been played live yet. He talks again about making some deadmau5 "staple tracks" and also some slightly different tracks.

Thanks to MattieBoy360 on The Daft Club for first pointing the videos out in a post, and also to Baldoak for posting the vids in the shoutbox, made things easier.

Keeping you updated with mau5

Some Chords RELEASED!

There it is, on deadmau5' official channel. (Shorter version)

Most likely to be on new album, was first played at UMF 2010, first played officially by Pete Tong yesterday (30/04/2010)

Part of the video seems to be cut off, but this seems to be the radio edit. The version he played at Coachella was ~8 mins long. (See posts on Coachella / UMF 2010)

Yet again, this is my personal favorite from the mau5, but enjoy, and we will keep you posted on it...

Update; Official album artwork from Deadmau5.com,
Update 2, even bigger size, thanks a lot to Mattieboy360 on The Daft Club

(too big to fit on blog)
