For Lack Of A Better Name NOT AN ARTIST ALBUM (Its a compilation album..)

"Deadmau5’s has a new compilation album, ‘For Lack Of A Better Name’, out in October. Now lets get one thing clear, this isn’t his Artist album (that’s still in mau5 lab), this is more a collection of random works that he’s produced individually. A few have been out previously, but there are some new surprises in there as well. The tracks will be segued together, so in a way reflect his current live show.

This summer he’s performed some electric shows at Sonar (The most spectacular audio visual assault involved an oversized mouse mask…this was Sonar at it’s expectation -shattering best) The Observer), and Glastonbury (Laptop played by giant nightmare cyber rodent whose black eyes look as if they’re staring into the depths of your soul and are not impressed by what they see – that’s thrills. NME). This autumn he’ll launch his mammoth world-wide ‘For Lack Of A Better Name’ tour. The tour is bigger and brighter with new visuals and a mind blowing innovation, which we cant reveal just yet, but will lift the show to new heights. More details soon."

Clear to see that this probably was a label pushed album. Something clear to note, looks like we will be seeing this new "HD TV Mau5head" soon!!! Stay tuned for more information!

Its Out!

"FLOABN" haha OR.. For Lack Of A Better Name has finally been released!!

Tuesday September 22nd! It has now been released digitally in most all locations, and CD copies are being sold in the US only.

For those who are not able to get the CD now, it is coming!

October 5th is the worldwide release date! Thats just 10 days people, not that long! ;)

If you are wondering there is 2 versions of this CD just like "RAT" (Random Album Title)..

Mixed and unmixed. The CD variation has the mixed version, and some digital carriers such as Beatport provide a mixed (single mp3) version as well.
But majority of online retailers (that provide digital release), are the unmixed cd. Both are fine and dandy let me assure you, just one was mixed by the mau5 himself and one just has the songs he made! :P

The iTunes version has the Nero Remix of "Ghosts 'n' Stuff (Feat. Rob Swire)" included as well.

On a side note Joel himself was in Toronto signing copies of the album!

ZYVOX n' Stuff

Hi. My first blog post here, and not strictly Deadmau5, but I thought it was worth shouting about, until Deadmau5 finishes his tour and starts solidly working on stuff.

This looks like a one time release from Moguai, a bit like Sydney Blu, ZYVOX, with a special remix by Steve Duda, (Deadmau5’ right hand man in BSOD.)

ZYVOX does what (maybe joel’s) description says it does. “An epic piece of electronica with rolling beats and hypnotic hook this is a sure winner on mau5trap! One half of BSOD, the legendary Steve Duda turns in a dubbier dreamier remix (Yet still with that trademark BSOD bassline)”

If I’m right Moguai has done some electro stuff before.

Very mau5 like, if you ask me. I’d recommend getting it here:

I’m looking forward to the release date of For Lack of a Better Name, and I hope it’s a little different than the promo release (at least it won’t have Ultra Deadmau5 promotion) because I have been listening to the promo. I also hope they release ghosts n’ stuff in UK on iTunes. Because beatport is rather expensive. But amazing for all the electro music you can’t get in iTunes.

And also a quick note that iTunes 9 is also released. Has much more features than iTunes 8.
Over and out from my first blog post, Psylark.

EXCLUSIVE - Joel announces New Mau5head Coming Soon

I was going to post this a while back, but like DJPixcell, I am very busy myself :)...

So far in Deadmau5's career, he has worn 4 different Mau5heads, Red, Blue, Black and Diamante. Now Joel has announced a brand new one, even more advanced then the rest: A fully animated Mau5head.

"I don't think anything like it has been done before in the history in humankind (Says Joel). It's going to be an 1800-plus LED matrix. The whole head will be a video screen. It's going to be sick"

The original mouse head team have been working on it for six months. So far it's cost nearly £60,000 (Nearly $100,000). It's so advanced, there'll be a heads-up display, like that used in fighter aircraft, so Zimmerman can see out.

"The inspiration was Daft Punk" he says. "Their helmets look cool, but it's very retro, like sandwich board s**t. It suits their look, but I felt the need to do the HD video version"
(Info taken from the UK Dance and Clubbing Magazine "Mixmag" Issue#220)

Photos (and maybe video :D) coming soon!
