Sofi's Locked & Loaded UPDATE

Just got some fresh news from the girl herself confirming the tracklisting for her upcoming EP coming out on Joel's label Mau5trap!

1. BROKEN SOUVENIRS
2. BRING OUT THE DEVIL
3. AGAIN SOMETIME?

Reminder this EP comes out OCTOBER 24TH

Locked & Loaded

Set to be released on Oct 24th, on mau5trap is SOFI's new and first EP, Locked & Loaded. It will feature tracks produced by Noisia, Millions Like Us , Skrillex & Kill The Noise.

In other news, the mau5 tweeted on Wednesday that he was planning to collaborate with Excision, I know I'm pumped for this one.

Deadmau5 - Maths (Mike Duz Remix)

deadmau5 - Maths (Mike Duz Remix) SET RIP by Mike Duz

From the man himself, here's a Mike Duz remix of Maths! Ripped from a set by him.

If you remember Mike Duz, I previously blogged about him because he made a cool remix of Oxygen by Moguai that should be getting a release in October or November (not soon enough) on mau5trap.

If you don't remember him, check him out on his Soundcloud.

This remix itself might not be getting a release any time soon though due to Deadmau5' reluctance to release the track.

However, Pete Tong has recently revealed on Radio 1 that through chats with Deadmau5, Deadmau5 is looking to release a proper artist album in 2012, with more new content than previous compilations.

Lastly, just a reminder that Excision's new album X Rated is now out on Beatport through mau5trap now. (or click the image in the blog post below)

X-Rated On Mau5trap?

EDIT: Seems like X-Rated is only being released on mau5trap for the time being, which is pretty interesting since Excision and the like have been very loyal to the Rottun name (perhaps CD release?). But nonetheless, we have a new heavy-hitter on mau5trap!

___________________________________________

Per the mau5trap Facebook postings, this is speculated to be Exicision's new album, X-Rated, which looks like it will be released on both Rottun Recordings and Mau5trap. We'll keep an eye out and let you know what happens there. Excision has been touring with the mau5, Tommy Lee, and DJ Aero the past few months, and we look forward to anything he releases on mau5trap.

And another little tidbit, the people who manage the mau5trap page also left us this, let the speculation begin!

The treat was a new The Call Remix!

Raized By Wolves - The Call (Eyes Remix) by mau5trap records

EDIT: More news, Pete Tong recently announced that he will have a "new deadmau5 / feed me & Skrillex on the show this week", per his Facebook status (social networking, where would we be without it?). We will also keep an eye out for this show tomorrow on bbc.
Unfortunately, the new tracks happened to be Cott's Face and Where Are My Keys, and the Skrillex being Ruffneck.

Mau5trap Releasepalooza! EDIT: Meowingtons Hax Tour Trax, Where Are My Keys RELEASED!

Where Are My Keys

Cott's Face - Feed Me

Static - Tommy Lee & DJ Aero

If you're interested about the rest of the compilation, you can find it on this youtube channel.

Tomorrow (or today, depending on what time-zone you're in), Feed Me's new original track "Cott's Face" will be released on mau5trap, exclusively on Beatport, and once I find an appropriate link, you can be sure you can find it on this blog post. :)

Also more rumoristic rumblings, courtesy of SJRimmington, who run's a neat blog over at Nothin's Gonna Change, a certain article from Kik Axe Music, states that today, mau5trap is also set to release a Meowingtons Hax compilation, which includes Tommy Lee and DJ Aero's new singles, Static and LFO Tool. Note that any word of this Meowingtons Hax comp is not confirmed at all and is simply rumor at this point, the only words to come from mau5trap which might be related came in the form of a recent tweet from earlier tonight. Click the picture for a link to the tweet itself. Should there be an actual release, I'll also post the beatport link for that.

TOMMY LEE and DJ AERO have partnered with DEADMAU5 and his MAU5TRAP label to release their new singles Static and LFO Tool tomorrow, August 25thvia the MEOWINGTONS HAX compilation

Embedded below is the video for Static. And yes, that is Skrillex's manager. Video is partly NSFW.

So, tell us what you guys think!

EDIT: What also might be interesting, is the audio in this video found on Adobe's Student site. Mau5 original or not? It remains to be seen. If you know what this track is, or any info, let us know!

EDIT: New updates! The big suprise mau5trap told us about is the Meowingtons Hax Tour Trax Bundle.

As Deadmau5 embarks upon the Meowingtons Hax North American tour alongside a host of the Mau5trap stable, the label head leads the charge with a brand new compilation. It features new and exclusive tracks from Deadmau5 himself and a host of the artists featuring on the tour, as well as a selection of tracks from new additions to the label that you can expect to hear a lot more from in the coming months. With contributions from Feed Me, Tommy Lee & Aero, Excision & Datsik, Zedd, Moguai, Al Bizzare and James Njie, this compilation is set to be the soundtrack to the tour carnage that will undoubtedly ensue. Opening with the insistent, driving powerhouse that is Where My Keys, an exclusive track from Deadmau5 himself, the compilation goes straight for the jugular. Moving through the jarring Cotts Face by Feed Me which fuses together glitchy drums and erratic synth lines and onto recent tour additions Tommy Lee & Aero the compilation doesnt hold up for a second as they deliver two fidgety electro house party starting tracks. Excision & Datsik turn up the heat with Deviance as grinding beats and growling basslines meet extra-terrestrial synth lines, proving once again why their star is most definitely in the ascendant. Zedds remix of Skrillex smash Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites channels the power of the original into a filthy 4x4 monster while Moguais Beat of The Drum surges forward on the elastic synths and rolling bass line with Sofi delivering her vocals with attitude.Upcoming Mau5trap artists Al Bizzare and James Njie also feature on the compilation. Al Bizzare brings Blast Wave to the table, a many-headed beast that switches up glistening synths and swelling bass and is in turns both euphoric and gritty. Rising talent James Njie rounds off the compilation in style, introducing himself with two futuristic progressive house tracks that are at once delicately nuanced and full of impact, speaking volumes of his talent. Mau5trap has grown exponentially since its inception in 2007 and become home to some of the most exciting electronic artists in the world. The new compilation features just some of the talent that the label champions and offers up a decisive musical statement whether you are going to the upcoming tour or not. To celebrate the release of the compilation, the Beatport version will come with selected track parts available for digital DJs giving them the chance to get creative. *The Meowingtons Hax tour runs from 11th August to 5th November, starting in Vancouver and ending in Toronto.

EDIT2: deadmau5 graphic novel.

Professional Griefers + NEW ALBUM NEWS. [not confirmed]

UPDATE: EMI has taken down both the Professional Grifers and Don't Forget The Paperwork videos as of this morning. Hmm, what to make of this?

Well, seems like we have an actual name for Deerbus now.

You may remember that when the video for Don't Forget the Paperwork was released on the mau5trap recordings youtube channel, it's legitimacy was up for debate, but no where else could you find that good of a quality of the same track that had it's debut on the live Earl's DVD. Proof enough? I'd say so.(Leaving this striked out until we can get some real proof.) It's still a mysterious muddy gray area, but I think it's better that way. Leaves more to the imagination. (note that you also cannot find anywhere else, the intro to the track in this video. It doesn't start off from a recorded mix or anything else, it's from the intro of the track itself.)

And if you clicked the video, and looked at the description, you may have noticed this.

Is this some cryptic hinting we're looking at? Or simply a skillful trickster impersonating a mau5trap youtube channel? Let us know what you think. :)

New info on the new Deadmau5 stage / MAU5038 coming up / interviews

That's one of the longest post titles I've done in a while...

Alright, so we know Deadmau5 said about heavy motors for the new set. And at Lollapalooza, that was demonstrated with the mini cube group things (for lack of a better name).

And here, we find out what else Deadmau5 may have wanted to show off at Lolla, but couldn't due to rain.

And so the holodesk first seen at Earl's Court on the last UK tour is in action. The mau5cube twists round to reveal it, and the mau5 uses it with full effect, on the beautiful Jaded.

This video also shows the mini cubes moving up too.

If any more features get shown you'll see them here on mau5itup.

MAU5038 - Moguai feat. Fiora - Oxygen

I was wondering why we hadn't heard from Moguai for a while, after his cool compilation Lyve at Beta a while ago. That same compilation actually featured a song called Oxygen with a singer called Fiora. This song will soon have a release on Mau5trap, courtesy of some info from remixer of the song Mike Duz.

Apparently this guy Mike Duz is just 14. Madeon, move out of the way, you have a contender.

You can hear the really nice remix of the song here, and the original song here.

Check back here for details on when the EP will be released.

Interviews

After being at lolla, deadmau5 was bombarded with interviews. I was astounded at the lack of questions surrounding where he got the name deadmau5 from.

In said interviews with billboard.com and the rolling stone, he discussed perhaps making a new film score in the future, his hatred for compilation soundtracks, foo fighters, his next album, his mobile studio, and alot more.

You can find these interviews here and here.

I think we're done here,
