Deadmau5 - Aural Psynapse

I'm distraught to have to move Feed Me down the page, but yet again a new (kinda) deadmau5 tune slipped by me recently.

Aural Psynapse! (synapse?)

This one was an old, old track. Apparently, from around 1998 - 2002.

The old version can be found there, in a collection of a lot of deadmau5 tracks that deadmau5 uploaded ages ago, from ages ago.

the old Aural Psynapse. A little bit trancey, a little bit awesome. OK, a lot awesome...

Deadmau5 did indeed hint on twitter that he was remaking an old track "done right this time".

Deadmau5 has been playing it out on his Australian tour (which is about to finish).

It's also rumoured this is the track Deadmau5 is collaborating with Tiesto on. Note that some of the synths sound less Deadmau5-like. Although this is speculation.

Feed Me "To the Stars" / Deadmau5 "Raise Your Weapon" (Noisia Remix)

Feed Me has been hinting at his EP for a while now, and now we've got previews. It's pretty damn insane. Enough said.

More Tasha Baxter, more electro madness a la White Spirit. Brilliant.

Feed Me - To the Stars live at Ultra Music Festival (he played right before Deadmau5.) At the time this track was unknown, but he previewed this and probably a couple other of the tracks there.

Details of release will INDEED be on this site ASAP...you know you need it. It'll be out on mau5trap, naturally.

Also just a call out to my twitter buddy Stephen for ever being informing about the world of electronica. He has a blog about electronic music over at http://www.nothingonnachange.com/. Check it out for us.

Deadmau5 is currently touring around Australia, and he played at Creamfields there in Melbourne.

Of note is the fact he played what appears to be a Noisia remix of Raise Your Weapon. (Can't really disagree, by how it sounds)

(Skip to about 3:50 to hear it (Note, live quality))

The Stimming and Noisia remixes definitely make for a diverse range of takes on this track. Raise Your Weapon remix EP, anyone?

Deadmau5 Remix of Foo Fighters - Rope OUT NOW

If you're a follower of the part of the music scene where people make music with a strange, awkward device called a guitar (you pluck strings. yeah, i know, it is weird, why not use a synthesizer?) then you may be aware that the new Foo Fighters album Wasting Light is out at your local CD store (not that I know what a CD is either) or iTunes.

Deadmau5 recently remixed their lead single from the album, Rope. What surprised me is that it had a release on beatport, with a slightly more club oriented version with it.

It also comes on the deluxe version of the album on iTunes.

It's a banger, do you want any more info?

In other news, we still await the new EP from Feed Me, and the Tiesto and Deadmau5 collaboration. Also some tasty new Skrillex, if he happens to want to release anything.

Deadmau5 + Tiesto collab coming our way...

www.twitter.com/deadmau5
www.twitter.com/tiesto

I have limited access right now but I can say that tiesto and deadmau5 have both casually discussed on twitter about a collab that they plan to do this upcoming week.

That's gonna be one hell of a collab.
Tiesto has recently collaborated with other massive electro names, such as Mark Knight, Diplo, and many others.

My only (boring) question is which label it'll come out on...Tiesto owns his own Musical Freedom label, meanwhile Deadmau5 owns mau5trap...

We'll have info on it right here on mau5itup, including where to buy it, when it's coming, and how much you should be impressed.

Meanwhile in mau5world, we're expecting a new Feed Me EP soon - as tweets from the man himself confirm. Another tweet from him suggets the return of Tasha Baxter's vocals on a song.

Also it's my own prediction we'll be seeing some new Skrillex soon. Skrillex's song "First of the Year" previously known as "Equinox" was played on Radio 1 by Zane Lowe, who I eagerly await to see at this year's LED festival in London, where deadmau5 is headlining.

Again I have limited access at the moment, so I've only given generic twitter links. But it's all happening.

Blimey, does the whole internet revolve around twitter? Probably. Oh, in that case, here's mine.

Deadmau5 interviews n stuff

First of all, Engadget, one of my favourite tech sites, did a little bit of a tech rundown of his live setup, with the cube and the LED mau5head. That's pretty cool.

Second of all, this one.

Shows a bit of his house, he does a little commentary on Daft Punk, and more of a look at his personal life a little bit.

Third of all, Deadmau5' twitter got hacked recently, however all is back to normal and you can indeed still follow him on @Deadmau5.

Deadmau5 won some awards, too. He won the juno for the 4th year in a row for Best Dance Recording, and he won the Beatport community choice award. Anything this guy can't do?

And lastly...I'm just procrastinating on searching through the wave of videos from UMF for all the good ones...but it did happen, and mau5trap's own Deadmau5, Feed Me, Skrillex and SOFI were there, including the mau5trap + beatport beach party - You can see the photos here.

Deadmau5 (and the rest of mau5trap) at Ultra 2011

(Note: videos are obviously still being uploaded to Youtube...therefore this is a work in progress post)

Deadmau5 headlined the Saturday show at Ultra. He came armed with his cube...also, SOFI, and some music.

It was pretty much a stock cube set, not many new tracks performed as far as I can tell. He was cut off at 12am due to time constrictions, therefore he didn't get to play Strobe as his ending song. Oh, but, instead there was confetti.

So on with the videos (bad quality vids will be replaced with the best quality vids)

Various clips (including some of carl cox)

Limit Break and Some Chords

the end of Some Chords.

Reward is Cheese / Bad Selection

SOFI Needs a Ladder (and is that live drums I hear? perhaps Tommy Lee was performing with them, just like last year. Meanwhile, do you remember that SOFI said she was going to be a hologram in her interview with MTV? I can't see it in this video, it's too far away.)

A huge chunk of the whole set, including Ghosts n Stuff, Maths, Get in the Cart Pig, and Sometimes Things Get Whatever.

Cthulhu Sleeps.

Sometimes Things Get Whatever

Maths

FML

more FML.

Right This Second (bad quality for the most part however it shows the full stage pretty well)

dubstep part of Raise Your Weapon

ditto.

End of the show (with confetti)
