General update and some new tracks

So, deadmau5 has now FINISHED his tour. Well deserved break for him. Apparently we'll have a 4th album this year.

However recently he's been dropping a load of new songs into his sets. Well, more specifically, remixes.

That's the notorious song that got #1 Christmas single last year. Looks like deadmau5 is a fan too. He's put his own touch on the song.

For the next album, I was wishing that we'd have a more trancy album like RAT. I've now changed my mind after hearing these. Check these out.

This seems to be ripped from a radio set, and I love it. Has some vocals from Chris Lake in it. Sounds like a less trancy Arguru. Skip to about halfway to hear that.

Last, we have another remix of a song I've never heard before. His style definitely fits in with this though.

These have all been ripped from recent sets, not by me. Credits to the people who ripped them for the videos.

He's also been making some music on Stickam.

And, last of all, guess who got URB readers poll of the year...best artist of 2009...

Xmas n stuff.

(Sorry for burying Strobe EP...look down for the great news about that...Very good EP, just wait for iTunes, hefty price of 10 pounds there...)

As it gets closer to Christmas I cannot ignore the song that has been going round in my head all day, which no doubt you will enjoy.

EDIT: I almost forgot that it's nearing New Year too...which means New HD mau5head soon! Be excited...We'll most likely see it then.

Also of note is this new song that Deadmau5 has been playing in his live sets.

Apparently called October, however it could be called anything different, as posted by someone random on Youtube... Was pointed out on TDC, but now we have the full song set rip.

Another thing. I'd like to point out to you Deadmau5' stickam profile, where he often just mixes random songs. Beware, the chatroom is full of spammers, but watch out and you might see something new.

I'm very impressed with Strobe EP, Plump DJs remix is awesome although it doesn't really have anything similar with original song in places. DJ Marky & S.P.Y remix sounds very drum n bass / dubstep if you're into that, Michael Woods remix definitely best IMO.

My personal opinions on the EP? Not bad, but not what I was hoping. (in a bad way) My personal fav mix would have to be the Plump DJs remix, but the original is still my favorite. Over-all its a decent EP, every remix is definitely worth listening to, and still has some of that classic Strobe feeling we all have grown to love.

If your a DJ buy this EP on Beatport, if your an average listener, I would wait for it to come out on iTunes or similar music store. I personally find the prices on Beatport over-priced, but you pay for the quality of the bit-rate, so it is a good thing if you are a DJ mixing some tracks. ;)

Strobe Remixes / Moguai / Wristbands

New email from Deadmau5 says that next EP will be...Strobe Remixes!

Quite exciting- and Strobe has been met very positively, and deadmau5 has been playing it at most concerts.

Will also be good to learn who's doing the remixes for this legendary track. I'm thinking trance producers.

More will come of the strobe remixes as we hear of it.

I'll also quickly give a shout to the new Touch Mix app on iTunes for iPod touch / iPhone.

US Wristband!

Also on deadmau5.com is the US equivelant of the UK "roundhouse set" wristband. This wristband includes the Terminal 5 set, Ghosts game, wallpapers, Ghosts n' stuff Remix video (Sub focus remix to ghosts n stuff video on uk wristband) as well as of course the Terminal 5 set. I'm guessing this is similar to the roundhouse set but here are links to buy both wristbands.

Next up is a new release on mau5trap by moguai, an EP called Lyve/Impereal.

I take it back about Moguai being a one time release on mau5trap. Could even be seeing an album by him. Deadmau5 says he's the one to watch in 2010...and he certainly thinks high of him to call him the best uprising artist of 2009 on Top 100 DJs...

Listening to Lyve, it sounds similar but not the same to ZYVOX.

Description: After a sterling debut release, Moguai (deadmau5's 'one to watch' 2010) answers the call once again and turns in another outstanding EP in the form of Lyve.

Pulsing bass, rolling chords and glitchy pads all add up to give Lyvea truly euphoric atmostphere, think Gui Boratto and Deadmau5 in one in Hamley's and you're just about there.

New Mau5Head!! ..another one!

Well thats right, ANOTHER variation of the mau5head!! This time we have something the most unique compared to the others. Blue head, yellow eyes, white mouth, and black ears!! Now to me, this is by far the most pimpin' mau5head there has been yet! I am a big fan of the style.

..don't you just love that new mau5head smell?

Well all we got to say down here at Mau5ItUp is that we hope this is the final one before we get to see this infamous LED Mau5Head!!

NEW ALBUM MARCH??

From Joel himself, says he has content ready for a new artist album. What does this mean? 100% original content! Nothing you have heard before!!

He says he is about a third finished the album, you have to know that there is a lot more to an album then just putting some tracks together.. he, and many other people will have to be busy to get something together that quick!

UPDATE; Had several things push me to believe that YOU NEED A LADDER is on the upcoming album!

Dr.Funkenstein REMIXES

Thats right! That classic tune from 'Vexillology', Dr.Funkenstein (more then likely you have heard it without knowing.. and randomly start singing "drfnkstein" in your head). Its a very addictive track.. and not very new. haha

But Play records, the obvious record label to the rights of such albums as "At Play", "At Play Vol.2", and of course "Vexillology" have taken advantage of Deadmau5' gain in popularity and have taken it among themselves to release a remix album for this addictive track!

Clever indeed, the 'album' you could say includes 10 tracks, and currently is ONLY available on Beatport.com!

Personally, I can't say all remixes are to par.. but there is a couple (to me.. like 2 at most) that shine. Still a decent little EP, especially nice for those who may be sick of FLOABN.
